As we finally say goodbye to winter and to epic storms and rains, summer begins and so does festival season!! There are so many rad festivals out there, we decided to make a little round up of the top sports events that have also been combined with music!
- Sea Sessions Festival
Dates: June 22-24th 2018
Location: Donegal, Ireland
Sea Sessions will celebrate their 10th anniversary this year with a truly astounding line-up, and some serious skate and surf comps! Ticketholders will be lucky enough to watch some of the top surfers in Europe compete for Ireland’s top cash prize. The festival also holds the DC Skate Jam which will see DC bring their European team to skate alongside the top talent in Ireland. The Skate ramp is bang smack in the centre of the festival arena and with the top European riders in action it is a real crowd pleaser. Headline acts include Dizzee Rascal, Rudimental and Walking on Cars.
- NASS Festival
Dates: July 5 – July 8th 2018
Location: Somerset, United Kingdom
NASS is a multi-genre music and extreme sports festival held in south-west England. Expect a mix of top level pro BMX, skateboarding and inline-skating add in some of the biggest names across the music industry. Nass truly is a paradise for adrenaline junkies, sports fans and music lovers alike. This year’s line-up does not disappoint with Dizzee Rascal, Run DMC and Damian Marley headlining.
- Sumol Summer Fest
Dates: July 6-7th 2018
Location: Ericeira, Portugal
Sumol Summer Fest is a two-day music festival held in Ericeria, Portugal. Boasting a skate park, a famous surf spot and epic beaches on its doorstep, Sumol offers the ideal combo between music festival and summer holiday. The festival is held in the stunning Portuguese seaside resort of Ericeira, around 35km from Lisbon. The festival will headline French Montana, Joey Bada$$ and Vic Mensa. To bring things up a notch, Sumol Summer Fest will also host a heated DJ battle with several artists from Portugal and Brazil.
- Glass Butter Beach
Dates: July 13-15th 2018
Location: Gwynned, Wales
What started as an an underground wakeboard event on Abersoch Beach, Glass Butter Beach has quickly become the world’s largest wakeboard music festivals. Ticketholders are treated to an exhilarating fusion of live music acts and DJs with top notch wakeboarding & surfing. Glass Butter Beach is in Abersoch, which is home to some of the UKs finest beaches and most spectacular landscapes. The naturally sheltered bays around Abersoch provide perfect glassy conditions for wakeboarding while just around the corner are some of the top surf spots in the country. Festival goers also have the opportunity to get involved in surfing, wakeboarding, skateboarding, stand up paddle-boarding, beach volleyball and much more. Expect awesome music and some seriously rad riding!
- Salinas Longboard Surf Festival
Dates: July 26-29th
Location: Salinas, Spain
This annual surf event promises ticketholders an awesome mix of great surf, good music, fun people and lots and lots of parties. Salinas will celebrate its 12th year in 2018. It is the largest festival of its kind in Europe and is in the top three longboard events globally so expect some pretty serious talent. A great option is to tie is Salinas with a surf trip as it is located really close to some top surf breaks!

Location: Newquay, United Kingdom
Boardmasters is a 5-day festival that offers ticketholders the best of both worlds: an awesome music line up and a whole host of extreme sports. This festival celebrates the top boarders in the world – from surfers or skaters – and adds in the BMX kings. Headlining the beach side festival this year are Chemical Brothers, Catfish and the Bottlemen and George Ezra. Boardmasters is held in Newquay, on the South West coast of England. For those who feel particularly inspired by the action, there are also amateur competitions and surf lessons available!
- Wheels and Fins Festival
Dates: September 7-9th 2018
Location: Kent, United Kingdom
Wheels and Fins is an eclectic, small scale, music and action sports festival. It is held just an hour and a half from central London and offers guests spectacular ocean views. 2018 will be the 6th year that Wheels and Fins has been running and it continues to grow and solidify its spot in the UK festival scene. This year promises amazing new music talent, alongside well-established names. The site of Wheels and Fins festival is a stunning rural setting with oceanside views and offers that authentically summery, chilled out vibe!
- Quiksilver Pro
Dates: October 2018
Location: Hossegor, France
As the summer is starting to wind up in Northern Europe, South West of France holds onto its tail and hosts a serious surf comp! The Quiksilver Pro is held in Hossegor which boasts some incredible waves, worthy of the best surfers in the world. Ticketholders can watch the world’s top surfers battle it out, and then celebrate with them in the evenings as part of Quiksilver’s festival. The Quiksilver Pro is much more than just sports event. There are also concerts, outdoor film screenings in addition to other events.
